April 11 ยท 12 PM โ 3 PM ยท Fun for the Family!
This year, we're not just hosting a kite festival. We're engineering a collection of defining moments your family will remember for years.
Research shows our brains don't record experiences like a video camera. We forget most of what happens and hold onto two things: the most emotionally intense moment (the Peak) and how the experience ended. This is the Peak-End Rule โ and it's the foundation of our entire action plan.
A 3-hour event is not remembered as 180 minutes of pleasantness. It's remembered by its highest high and how it felt when it was over. Our job is to stop leaving the peak and the end to chance โ and start building them deliberately.
Every defining moment contains at least one of four elements. Each moment in our schedule is deliberately engineered to hit one or more.
๐ช Arrive & Connect
Polaroid keepsake in front of the festival sign, grab a bite, meet neighbors.
๐ The Grand Launch
Every kite lifts off together on a countdown from 10.
๐งง Bubble & Kite Combo
Bubbles + kites in the air at the same time.
๐ข Slow-Mo Derby
Slowest walker with kite still flying wins.
๐จ Colors of J-Town
Everyone paints the sky together as one.
๐๏ธ The Grand Descent
Music plays as every family reels in their kite together.

Rise above the everyday.

Capture people at their best.

Spark the 'aha!' moment.

Unite the community.
This is a community event โ everyone brings something, everyone shares everything. Here's your checklist.
Any kite, any size, any shape. Don't have one? Grab a simple diamond kite โ they fly best!
It's Texas in April. Stay hydrated โ bring a water bottle for every member of your crew.
We'll have bubbles at the Bubble & Kite Combo, but the more the merrier. Bring a bottle for the kids!
Potluck style! Bring your favorite dish, snack, or dessert to share with your new neighbors.
No kite? No problem. Come anyway โ there will be plenty of kites in the sky to watch, bubbles to chase, food to share, and neighbors to meet.

At 2:55 PM, we announce The Grand Descent. Beautiful music plays as every family, at the same time, slowly reels in their kite. The coordinated, graceful descent of hundreds of kites is a stunning, definitive, and deeply memorable ending โ far more powerful than people just randomly packing up and leaving.
